Partners
Wayne L. Tomei, CPA is the managing partner of our firm. Wayne has twenty-nine years of accounting and tax experience as a CPA. His undergraduate studies were in business administration at Gonzaga University with an emphasis in accounting. He received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in 1977. Wayne has extensive experience in working with closely held businesses, specifically in tax and management consulting, cash flow, debt consulting and overall financial planning. The social and civic awareness and responsibility of our firm is demonstrated by his participation on the Board of Directors of numerous Bay Area non-profit organizations including the Salesian Boys’ and Girls’ Club, the Italian American Community Services Agency, the Columbus Day Celebration, Inc., and the San Francisco Italian Athletic Club Foundation. Wayne is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. Wayne enjoys most sports and is an avid San Francisco Giants, 49ers and Warriors fan. He also enjoys traveling, playing golf and spending time with his family. Stephen D. Tonjes, CPA is a partner in the firm. Steve has thirty years of diversified tax experience. Three of those years were with a large international accounting firm. He graduated from California State University at Hayward with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting in 1976. Steve has extensive experience in the taxation field relating to estates, corporations, partnerships and employee benefit plans. Steve was the past President of the San Ramon Valley Rotary Club and is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. In his free time, Steve enjoys playing golf, tennis, going to the movies and spending time with his new grandson and family. Steve and his wife Susan are active in the local Contra Costa “Blue Star Moms Group.” Steve and his family reside in Discovery Bay, CA.

Ferdinand G. Zabala, CPA
Ferdinand G. Zabala (Ferdie), CPA, Manager has been with the firm since 2000. Ferdie graduated from Luzon College, Philippines with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce, with an emphasis in accounting. Ferdie was certified by the California Board of Accountancy and became a Certified Public Accountant in 2003. Ferdie has over twenty years of accounting and tax experience and is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. Ferdie enjoys playing golf and spending time with his son and family.

Teresa Toan, Staff Accountant, is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Economics with an emphasis in Accounting. Teresa enjoys dining with friends, visiting her family and she and her husband now spend most of their time with their new baby girl, Allison.

Nicole A. Tomei, Staff Accountant
Nicole A. Tomei, Staff Accountant, has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing from Gonzaga University. Nicole represents our firm in the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce through her attendance at Chamber Mixers and functions. Nicole also volunteers her time with service to the Italian American Community Services Agency. Nicole enjoys traveling, running, playing sports, boating and spending time in San Francisco with her friends and family.

Daniel M. Norman, Staff Accountant
Daniel M. Norman, Staff Accountant, Dan is a graduate of the University of California at Davis with a Bachelor’s Degree in Managerial Economics. Before coming to Tomei & Tonjes, LLP Dan worked several years for E*Trade Financial as a Senior Financial Services Representative in the Tax/Retirement Division. Dan is currently completing several college accounting courses in preparation for taking the CPA exam. When Dan is not working he enjoys working out, watching sports and movies and spending time with his family.

Chris M. Corderi, General Manager
Chris M. Corderi, General Manager, has worked for the firm since 2005. Chris is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management. Chris’ experience includes working in the accounting department for Chevron Corporation as well as 12 years experience in general management in the retail hardware and commercial industrial supply industry for Ace Hardware. Chris supports and was active in the local Make-A-Wish Foundation. Chris represents our firm in the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce through his attendance at Chamber Mixers and functions. Chris enjoys boating, skiing, home improvement projects and spending time with his friends and family.

Eleanor M. Luna, Administrative Assistant
Eleanor M. Luna, Administrative Assistant, has worked for the firm for over fifteen years. With too many administrative talents and skills to list, Eleanor is the first person to greet clients in our office and she makes sure that their inquiries, questions and phone calls are directed to the appropriate staff members. In her spare time, Eleanor enjoys traveling, spending time with her new grandson and family, as well as watching the Oakland A’s and Raiders.

Donna V. Garcia, Administrative Assistant
Donna V. Garcia, Administrative Assistant, has worked for the firm for over seven years. Donna compliments our staff with her extensive administrative skills, knowledgeable bookkeeping skills and her professional demeanor. Donna donates her bookkeeping and administrative skills for the Columbus Day Celebration, Inc. Donna enjoys being involved with the children’s ministry at her church as well as spending time with her friends and family and helping coach her daughter’s soccer teams.

Paul V. Cecconi, is our firm’s summer intern (2007). Paul is an undergraduate at Santa Clara University studying Business Administration. Paul is a Campolindo High School graduate and Lafayette, CA resident. In his free time Paul enjoys playing sports, going to the movies, playing music and exercising.
